The department aims to
impart quality technical education to the students aspiring for
a career in the field of electronics and communications engineering.
The department also caters to the needs of other engineering disciplines
where electronics is taught either as an essential or an elective
subject. The department offers subjects like basic electronics, EMT
theory, communications, VLSI, microwave engg, digital
signal processing, optical communications, advanced microprocessor
and other related subjects.
The department has
an intake of 60 students in each
year of B.Tech (Electronics & communication engineering).
The department has following well equiped laboratories in related fields and students
are exposed to various practical assignments in the area
of electronics and communication.
DSP Lab
Communication Lab
Analog Electronics Lab
Microwave Lab
Tele Communication Networks Lab
Micro processor Lab
Digital Circuit & Systems Lab
Electrical Science/ Control Engineering Lab
Circuit & Systems Lab
Mobile Communication Lab.
VLSI Design Lab
Optical Communication Lab.
Every year, numerous professional
activities are organised by the department. Industrial visits, Expert
lectures from industry form an integral part of the curriculum.Students
are encouraged to become members of important professional bodies
like IEEE and IETE.A student chapter of IEEE is already active.
Besides improving interaction
with other academic institutions and industries, the department
also offers avenues to students for manifestation of their innovative
and creative talents by organising Quizes, technical paper contests.
Thus, the department does not merely provide up-to-date knowledge,
but is also equipping the students with the skills and aptitude
for modern areas in the field of electronics & communication.
The IEEE students branch organises an annual technical festivals IMPULSE which sees participation of around 50 engineering colleges from NCR. This year the department plans to organise a summer workshop from 20th - 24 th June 2011 in the area of "DSP and its Applications"
