LABORATORIES
(University School of Bio-Technology)
The school was established in the year 1999 at the Kashmere Gate Campus. Since then, we have strived hard to establish laboratories with state-of-the-art facilities as indicated below:

Bioinformatics
The School has procured two Silicon Graphics workstations and a range of software tools for bioinformatics and structural biology.

Microbiology and Fermentation facility
We have well-equipped microbiological facilities including a fermentor, shaker, sonicator, autoclaves and other accessory instruments under regular use.
Proteomic facility
Instruments such as HPLC, FPLC, Ultrafiltration, Column Chromatography and gel electrophoresis are being used routinely for teaching and research purposes. We also have a peptide synthesizer to synthesize peptides of chosen amino acid sequences.

Genomic facility
State of the art facilities exist to carry out experiments related to cloning and gene expression. The facilities include DNA manual sequencer, gel electrophoresis, PCR, gel documentation, water baths, Incubator Shakers, Centrifuges, Laminar Air Flow etc.

Plant Tissue Culture facility
We have a moderate plant tissue culture lab where we conduct routine teaching and research experiments. We also have a plant growth chamber and accessory facilities.

Animal Tissue Culture facility
A separate, running animal tissue culture facility houses a dedicated laminar air flow, CO2 incubator, inverted microscope, fluorescent microscope and micromanipulator.
