The University School of Environment Management (USEM) was established in the year 1998 essentially to address current and future environmental problem and sustainable uses of natural resources through quality education, training and research. The vision followed by the School is to actively pursue the goals of imparting quality education, training and facilitate high quality research in the field of environment and natural resources management and also act as a think tank in policy matters related to environment management and sustainable development. The School is set up for the accomplishment of need based knowledge creation by a pool of trained and dedicated professionals. For the past 25 years the school has made very significant contribution through high quality research, education, extension and consulting services through its highly experienced qualified faculty members. Our students and PhD scholars are involved in large number of projects, in collaborations with industry, Government Departments and International Organization. USEM has got very active placement and summer internship cell for supporting graduate and postgraduate students. Student's forum and clubs of the School provides excellent platform engage themselves in various innovative activities round the year.

RESEARCH ACTIVITIES
During the last 25 of years, the School has made concerted efforts in promoting research activities in the contemporary areas of concern. The current strength of PhD Scholars of the School is about 60 in number, working on different research topic share their results through national and international journals, conference and seminars, including our in-house seminars. On an average annually about 35-40 research papers are published in highly reputed journals having high impact factors. Presently, USEM is involved in carrying out research in the following areas:
INFRASTRUCTURAL FACILITIES
USEM has state of the art laboratories for carrying out teaching and research at the university premises. USEM boasts of having modern and advanced laboratories. Several labs are available such as Advance instrumentation system lab, Water quality analysis laboratory, Remote sensing / GIS laboratory, environment microbial technology laboratory, Energy and Climate Change, air pollution monitoring laboratory, Bio-systematics, NRM & Conservation biology lab. There are several field research plots including medicinal plants garden and modern green house facility, where students and PhD scholars actively involve with their work.
USEM posses modern class room facilitates in the Block-A, within the University promises. University bus is available for the frequent field visits for the Environment students.
USEM has also established a new centre, which is ‘The Centre for Sustainability and Climate Change’ (CSCC).This Centre represents a significant step in our commitment to addressing the urgent global environmental challenges we face today, particularly in the realm of sustainability, climate change, and environmental governance and environmental sustainability of Delhi. The Center's primary mission is to foster an interdisciplinary approach to the study and practice of sustainability and climate change. Our work is focused on generating cutting-edge research, creating new academic curricula, facilitating knowledge exchange, and organizing outreach programs.
