The University School of Education aims to facilitate studies in all emerging areas of Education such as Educational Management, Planning and Finance, Teacher Education, Educational Technology, Inclusive Education, Distance Education etc. to prepare teacher educators who are well versed with the skills and competencies of effective and efficient teaching skills and research. The school shall foster a climate of lifelong learning and empower individuals to be torch bearers of social change by transforming the very face of Teacher Education. The school has emerged as a role model with respect to the pedagogical interventions, innovations in research and creation of enriched teaching –learning environments which ignite minds through challenge and feedback. The school fosters the growth of the individual and the collective through constructing knowledge collaboratively and creating an open environment which nurtures the spirit of progressive Teacher Education.

Programmes:

 Ph.D.

Ph.D. programme at the school aims at developing competence in the methodology of conducting research in various fields of Teacher Education so that it could go a long way in producing reliable and valid thesis with the following programme objectives:

Programme Objectives:
  • To develop sound understanding of research methodology in the domain of Education.
  • To explore the research gaps through review of related literature.
  • To develop the capacity to construct and use appropriate educational research tools.
  • To apply appropriate statistical techniques for data analysis depending on the research designs.
    Programme Outcomes (PO):

    PO1: Apply understanding of different research methodologies to solve problems and address the issues in Education.
    PO2: Conduct meta-analysis of the literature reviewed.
    PO3: Develop research tools in the domain of Education.
    PO4: Apply relevant statistical techniques to analyze the data.

    Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) for Ph.D.

    PSO1: Enable the students to formulate research questions, addressing social and organizational issues.
    PSO2: Apply scientific methods and critical insights to address real-world educational and societal challenges.
    PSO3: Develop research proposals and pursue socially relevant research.
    PSO4: Develop skills for effective oral and written communication of scholarly findings and publish research and policy papers in the field of education.

     M.Ed. (Regular)

    Programme Duration:
  • It is a two-year (Four Semesters) Masters Programme that would culminate in PG Degree, i.e., M.Ed.
  • The M.Ed. Programme has been approved by the NCTE
    Scope of the Programme:
  • As per the NEP 2020, the M.Ed. programme aims to prepare a cadre of committed Teacher Educators, Curriculum Developers, Educational Administrators, Policy Analysts and Entrepreneurs in the field of Education.
  • To provide higher education platform to teachers after pursuing the Bachelors Degree in Education.
    Programme Objectives:

    The M.Ed. programme has been designed keeping in view of the following objectives:

  • To produce dedicated Teacher Educators who believe in lifelong learning.
  • To set high standards of professional competency of Teacher Education.
  • To inspire motivational leaders in the school, community, nation and the world.
  • To educate a new cadre of instructional leaders – teacher educators, school entrepreneurship and administrators who have the capacity, skill and knowledge to create and sustain environments in modern day education.
  • To equip the teachers with the knowledge & skills of new technologies focusing on understanding the principles of organizational management, Leadership, systemic change.
    Programme Outcomes (PO):
    PO1: Develop professionally competent Teacher Educators.
    PO2: Develop leaders at school, district and national levels in the field of education.
    PO3: Create educational entrepreneurs who develop self sustaining work environments.
    PO4: Motivate prospective teachers and teacher educators towards development of 21st century skills.

    Programme Specific Outcomes (PSOs) for M.Ed.

    PSO1: Understand social stratification, modernisation, socialization and social and education equality and equity. Undertake activities that contribute to social change through teacher education.

    PSO2: Understand the historical, political and economic aspects of education including safeguarding human rights through education.

    PS03: Apply various research methods, techniques and engage in academic writing in educational research including the use ICT for ethical publishing.

    PSO4: Understand about various philosophies and their contribution in education.

    PSO5: Develop the entrepreneurship skills through self development and capacity building in entrepreneurship

    Action Plan:

  •         The curriculum has been designed keeping in view the latest changes in the educational systems and policies.

  •         Technology is the need of the time, so it has been kept as an integral part of the curriculum.

  •         An advisory committee for placement and information for new opportunities is already working towards making global placements a reality.

    Focus would be on self development, communication skill development and research competence development
